Some Qualcomm Chips (Phones) Banned in US

A US trade panel banned certain mobile phones using chips made by Qualcomm, saying they infringed on a patent held by rival maker Broadcom.
The International Trade Commission said the 3G chips for phones operated by Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T infringed on a US patent held by its fellow California firm Broadcom.

EU Officially Pegs Mobile Roaming Charges

The EU’s (European Union) 27 governments approved a law that will cut the roaming charges associated with using mobile phones abroad by around 70 percent By the end of June, 2007, mobile phone operators will have to offer subscribers a capped rate for phoning or receiving calls while outside their own countries.
